Attorney Erick I. Díaz
Attorney Erick I. Díaz joined the Zayas Law Firm in July 2016. He
grew up in Puerto Rico, and moved to Connecticut in 2005. Prior to becoming
an attorney, Erick served in the U.S. Army as an Armor Officer, obtaining
the rank of Captain. He also worked in marketing as an Assistant Brand
Manager for a Fortune 100 Company.
Erick earned a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and his J.D.
from Boston University School of Law, where he was the President of the
Latin American Law Student Association. Erick is admitted to practice
in Connecticut, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and in New York.
Upon graduating from law school, he joined the law firm of Wiggin and Dana,
where he represented companies in employment matters for several years
and successfully represented a Colombian family seeking asylum in the
U.S. Then, for a couple of years, he ran his own law firm representing
employees, parents and children in child protection cases, and juveniles
in criminal matters. Between 2012 and early 2016, he worked as an attorney
for a boutique plaintiff’s employment law firm in Hartford, CT.
In that job, he represented employees in individual and class actions.
Erick now applies his more than ten years of litigation experience to helping
the injured receive fair compensation for injuries and losses suffered
due to the negligence of others.
Erick was recognized as a 2015 Rising Star Employment Litigation by Super
Lawyers. He is a past President of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association
President, and in 2013 he was selected as one of “Connecticut's
50 Most Influential Latinos" by LUPA (Latinos United for Professional
